Recorder Karate Idea Bank

I have just started using the Recorder Karate method and my kids LOVE it.

In order to recognize their efforts, I created a bulletin board with columns for each belt listing the song title, etc. I then copied the page with the extra clip art and allowed them to choose one animal/person to represent themselves on the board. They cut and colored their character and added their names.

They love moving their "guy" across the board as they earn belts and it has really peaked the attention of the younger students - who are already asking when they can begin to learn the recorder. I also posted the National Standards and my rubric for earning belts, so my principal loves the board, too!
